Follow the steps below to generate a unique band name, album title, and a concept for your album art. Each step uses a random generator to spark your creativity!

  1. Step 1: Find Your Band Name

  5. Step 5: Choose a Music Genre

Consider the information you have about your fake band: the band name, album title, and generated image. Pick a music genre that you think would go well with this information.

  6. Step 6: Research Genre Aesthetics

Research the aesthetics used in album covers for your chosen music genre by doing a Google image search. Search for "[Your Genre] album covers". Consider the colors, fonts, imagery, and layout. Take notes on these visual ideas.

  7. Step 7: Assemble Your Assets

Use an application like Photoshop (or free alternatives like Photopea/Canva) to assemble your text and imagery on a 'CD cover template'. You can generate more images using ImageFX or find new fonts to match the genre's aesthetic.

  8. Step 8: Design the CD Cover

Lay out the text and manipulate the images to create a cohesive CD cover design. Ensure it follows the aesthetic conventions and visual elements typical for the music genre you chose.

  9. Step 9: Save Your Final Image

Save your completed CD cover as a JPG file using the following naming convention:

    Example: JoeV-1.jpg

Project Goal

Repeat this entire process to create 8 different CD album covers. Each one can explore a different music genre, allowing you to practice a wide range of design aesthetics.
