QUICK START SYNTH SEQUENCER FX RACK AI WIZARD INPUTS

INITIALIZATION

AUDIO WARNING: Modern web browsers perform a "Audio Context Suspension" to prevent websites from playing noise automatically.

Load the application.
Click the START button located in the bottom Sequencer rack.
This will "wake up" the audio engine. You are now ready to play.

RACK 1: BitWAVE SYNTH

An 8-voice polyphonic synthesizer inspired by 80s consumer keyboards.

Core Controls

TONE: Cycles through oscillators: Sine, Square, Sawtooth, Triangle, and Sampler.
OCTAVE: shifts the keyboard range from -2 (Bass) to +2 (High Lead).
VOL: Independent volume control for the synth (separate from drums).

The Sampler

The BitWAVE includes a built-in microphone sampler (SK-1 style).

Click the REC button.
Allow microphone permissions if prompted.
Make a sound immediately. Recording lasts exactly 2.0 seconds.
The synth will auto-switch to SAMPLER mode.

Sample Editing

Once a sample is recorded, the edit controls unlock:

REV: Reverses the audio buffer in memory.
TRIM Slider: Adjusts the start point of the sample. Use this to remove "dead air" or silence before your sound starts.

RACK 2: EIGHTFOLD PATH

A 4-track step sequencer and drum machine.

The Grid

Row 1: Kick Drum
Row 2: Snare Drum
Row 3: Hi-Hat
Row 4: Percussion (or CV Link)

Sample Loading (Drag & Drop)

You can replace any drum sound with your own files.

Drag a .WAV or .MP3 file from your desktop and drop it directly onto the text label (e.g., drop it on the word "KICK"). The text will turn green to confirm load.

Advanced: CV LINK

Located in the header. When CV LINK is checked:

Row 4 (Perc) stops making sound.
Instead, active steps on Row 4 trigger the BitWAVE Synth.
The Synth plays random notes from a Bass Scale, synced perfectly to the beat.

RACK 3: FX PROCESSOR

A 7-stage mastering chain. Signal flows from Left to Right.

Routing

You must enable the sends to hear effects:

SYNTH SEND: Routes the synth through the FX.
SEQ SEND: Routes the drums through the FX.

Modules

DRIVE: Wave-shaping distortion.
CRUSHER: Bit-depth (retro) and Sample-rate reduction.
FILTER: Low-Pass Filter to remove high frequencies.
CHORUS: Stereo widening and detuning.
PAN/TREM: Rhythmic auto-panning and volume pulsing.
DELAY: Dub-style echo with feedback.
COMP: Dynamics Compressor. Glues the mix together and controls volume peaks.

AI PATCH WIZARD

This module uses Google's Gemini AI to design sounds for you.

Enter your Gemini API Key. (Stored only in memory, never saved).
Type a description: "Heavy distorted bass for cyberpunk" or "Dreamy underwater pad".
Click GENERATE.

The AI will take control of the Synth parameters (Attack, Decay, Waveform) and the entire FX Rack to match your description.

INPUT METHODS

Computer Keyboard

Play using the home row:

MIDI & Bluetooth

The app supports the Web MIDI API standard.

USB: Plug in your keyboard and refresh the page. It will work instantly.
Bluetooth MIDI: Connect your device to your OS (Windows/Mac/Android). The browser will detect it as a MIDI input.
